GYMZO FAQ — plans, tracking, coaches, gyms and Pro

GYMZO is the all-in-one workout platform for coaches, members, and gyms, on iPhone and Android. It's free to download and start tracking: logging, the ready-made plans, the plan builder, 1,500+ animated exercises, the weekly leaderboard and all 36 languages sit in the free tier. GYMZO Pro adds AI-built plans, trend charts, achievements, full history and the extra leaderboards. Below are the questions people ask most.

Getting started

What is GYMZO?

GYMZO is a gym workout tracker that grew into a full platform. You follow a plan — your own, your coach's, one of the ready-made ones, or one GYMZO AI Coach builds — and log every set, rep and weight as you train.

Underneath sit progress charts, achievements, leaderboards and 36 languages. Gyms can add a free live TV of their floor on top.

Is GYMZO free?

It's free to download and start tracking, and the free tier is deliberately generous: unlimited workout logging, every ready-made plan, the plan builder with no cap on how many plans you make, the full 1,500+ exercise library, your own custom exercises, the weekly leaderboard, gym-TV pairing, and all 36 languages.

GYMZO Pro is the paid tier for AI-generated plans, trend charts, achievements, full history and the extra leaderboards.

Do I need a gym membership or a coach to use it?

No. GYMZO works the same at home, in a garage, or on a commercial gym floor, and most people never use the coach side at all. You sign yourself up — there's no reception desk to go through, no gym to be approved by, and no coach seat to be assigned to.

Can GYMZO replace my workout spreadsheet or paper notebook?

That's exactly the job. Build your week once — the days you train, each day's exercises, your sets, reps and rest — and it becomes a live plan instead of a file. Every session you log stays attached to it, so your history is the spreadsheet you never have to maintain.

How do I make a 4-day split, or a 5-day, or a Saturday/Monday/Wednesday one?

Open the plan builder and pick the actual days of the week you train — the shape of the week is yours, not a fixed template. Mark each training day as strength or cardio, then fill the strength days from the exercise library with your sets, reps and rest. Save, and it's assigned to you immediately. It's free, and there's no limit on how many plans you build.

Will GYMZO tell me what weight to lift?

No, and that's deliberate. Plans define exercises, sets, reps and rest — never load. You enter your own weight every session, and what you did last time sits right next to today's input, so your own history is the progression guide. GYMZO also never bumps your kilos up by itself.

Plans and coaches

How does my coach send me a workout plan?

They build it in the app and share it as a QR code or a 6-digit code. You scan or type the code, review the plan, and import your own copy. Sharing is consent-based — a coach can't push anything onto your phone.

On the gym floor, a coach can also build or adjust the plan directly on your device in under a minute.

Does my coach need a separate app, a dashboard, or a paid seat?

No. There is no coach dashboard, no client roster, and no separate coach login. A coach picks "I'm a coach" during onboarding and uses the same app everyone else does — the same plan builder, the same exercise library, plus their own custom exercises.

What happens to my plan if I stop training with my coach?

Nothing. The plan you imported is your copy, and every session you logged against it stays with you. Coach changes, the plan stays. There's no gate that can be closed on your data from the outside.

I don't know how to train — can GYMZO build me a plan?

Yes. Answer a short set of questions — where you train, what equipment you actually have, which days you're free, how long a session is, whether you want cardio, and which muscles to emphasise — and GYMZO AI Coach builds a plan around it. It saves as a normal, fully editable plan you own.

AI generation is part of GYMZO Pro. A store free trial includes one starter plan, and paid Pro gives you three new plans per calendar month.

Can I add an exercise that isn't in the library?

Yes. Create your own with a photo, a GIF, or a video you record, plus its equipment, the muscles it works and your own instructions. It lives in your library and drops into any plan. The free tier holds ten; GYMZO Pro removes the cap. This is how coaches get their own movements into their clients' plans.

Does GYMZO track cardio, or only weights?

Both. Any day in a plan can be a cardio day, and every exercise asks for what actually fits it — weight and reps, bodyweight reps, weight added or taken off, time, distance and time, or weight and distance.

Your gym's screen

How do I put GYMZO on my gym's TV?

Open gymzo.com/live on any TV that has a web browser — a smart TV, a streaming stick, or a laptop plugged into the screen. It shows a 4-digit room code and a QR code. Members open the app, tap the gym icon, and type the code. From then on their live sessions appear on the screen. Setup takes about two minutes.

Does the gym TV cost anything, or need special hardware?

No to both. The live screen is genuinely free for gyms, there's nothing to buy or install, and there's no admin login to create. Any browser-capable TV works.

What does the gym see, and what do members control?

The screen shows who's training right now — avatar, username and a running timer — plus a celebration when someone finishes, and the gym's leaderboard. Members choose to pair, can unpair with one tap, and can opt out of appearing on the big screen entirely. In single-gender gyms the leaderboard filters accordingly.

Free, Pro and your data

How does the leaderboard rank people — am I just going to lose to bigger lifters?

No. The GYMZO Score is progress-based, not strength-based: it weighs how much your volume grew, how often you trained, your streak, how closely you followed your plan, and how your body is moving toward the goal you set.

Someone who took their squat from 30 kg to 60 kg scores better than someone who went from 140 kg to 142 kg. The weekly board is free; the live, monthly and gym-room boards are part of Pro.

Does GYMZO work if the gym Wi-Fi drops mid-session?

Set logging is built to survive it. A dropped connection won't cost you a set, and it won't record the same one twice.

What languages does GYMZO support?

36, with Arabic as the default and full right-to-left layout. Each language gets its own gym-vocabulary review, so exercise names read the way lifters in that language actually say them rather than as literal translations.

How much does GYMZO Pro cost?

Pro comes as a monthly, yearly, or one-time lifetime purchase, and prices are set per country — many markets pay considerably less than the standard price. The standard prices are on the pricing page, and the App Store and Google Play always show the final figure in your own currency.

Who owns my workout data?

You do. Your plans and your logged sessions belong to your account, not to a gym or a coach. Unpairing from a gym screen is one tap, a coach can't see your logs, and account deletion is a link in the footer of this page — not a support ticket.
